Energy Music Series #6
at 7:30 PM
- David Francis & Ben Broderick
Ben Broderick has been playing guitar in the Eastern
Connecticut since the late nineties, mostly as a solo
artist in coffee shops and open mics. Although he's
performed in multiple bands on the electric guitar,
his emphasis is on original acoustic guitar compositions,
instrumental pieces performed finger-style and in a
variety of tunings. He starts somewhere around country-blues
and goes astray from there, touching on folk and almost
getting to classical. Whatever the style, however, his
music is marked by strong, natural melodies, flowing
rhythms and an unmistakable mood for each song. Copies
of his CD "Jog Play"! will be on hand.
David returns for another evening of his original
songs. He recently completed a tour of England and continues to attract a following
in New York City and New England for his poetic ballads and classic
pop-folk. David has played live at Carnegie Hall, the Gloucester
Guildhall (UK), at LaMaMa ETC, as well as on BBCRadio. www.cdbaby.com/all/davidfrancis
